Isaiah 61:1

“The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me;
because the LORD hath anointed me
to preach good tidings unto the meek;
he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim liberty to the captives,
and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;”

We are so incredibly thankful for our Pastor. He has been a source of strength and encouragment for both of us from day one. He has constantly visited my husband. Currently the institution only allows one visit per month, so Pastor is writing to him.

So many Christians are tempted to turn away and to not minister to “these people”. Praise God for our Godly Pastor. If he turned away from “these people” my husband and I would be going through this without any support.

If you know someone ministering to prisoners or their families, take time to pray for them and encourage them. “Those people” are desperate for a Christian that is real–one who is unafraid to love the “unloveables”

2 Thoughts Shared to Isaiah 61:1

  1. Susanna

    I think people find it very difficult and frightening to deal with a situation that they know little of and do not understand. But we shouldn’t, because the Lord has promised to give us the words we need.I pray that you will find many more people who are willing to help and support you both.

    I have just blogged about a man who witnessed in the prisons in Nurenberg- you might want to see the great blessing that God brought about because of His faithful child in prison.
