Paperwork by candlelight

by adustyframe ~ November 29th, 2006

Tonight while my son was at Bible club, I came home to paperwork.

Paperwork by candlelight sounds so relaxing doesn’t it?

It wasn’t. I only lit the candle because I was sitting at the table not wanting to do my work.

Oh! I should light the candle. MMM…that’s nice.

Ok paperwork.

Oh! I should make some coffee. Delightful.

Ok paperwork.

Oh! I should look at that new book catalog.

I have a really bad habit of putting off tasks that I don’t want to do.

But alas, I did the paperwork. It’s a good feeling to accomplish my work.

So many times, I put off things and feel overwhelmed by all I have to do.

I find that it greatly helps to just tackle the task and keep working on it. I guess stopping to light the candle is ok as long as the work gets done.

So what are you procrastinating on?
A thank you to write? An encouragement to pass on?  Cleaning out the fridge? (blech)

Get busy! You’ll feel better.

Ecclesiastes 9:10

Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might;

We re-arranged the front room on Monday night (as you do at 9.30 in the evening) but I now need to re-house everything. That s the problem with sorting out… have to sort out everything to make space for the things you move…..and even when you chuck things out there still doesn’t seem to be much extra space! Todays task = finish typing up the minutes from the church members meeting (still have not worked out how I ended up doing them!)

Ugh! It’s a phone call I have to make. About my student loan. I don’t wanna do it!
