A great blessing
by adustyframe ~ February 16th, 2007Alright now, this isn’t major as far as blessings go.
It’s pretty cool though.
Not one time in all these months, has anyone ever unexpectedly knocked on my door at night.
Being alone is easier now, but it was very hard at first. I liked having my big strong husband home at night to take care of me. When he wasn’t there, my fears rose to the surface.
The first weeks that he was gone, I had to seriously pray for God to give me peace at night. I still pray for God to protect us as I’m on my way to bed.
I am grateful that I haven’t had to deal with any unexpected night time door knocks.
Thank you, Lord for this blessing too.

Oh….I think it is a major blessing!!! At least with me, it would be. Psalm 4:8 is another one of those verses that I have claimed in overcoming fear of being alone at night: “I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.” What a testimony you have, dear friend!
