Snow Day Blessings

by adustyframe ~ February 25th, 2007

Many years ago, I injured my back and neck. It still causes me a lot of pain.

I am often down with headaches that I can’t shake.

Shovelling is not good for my back. But what’s a girl to do right?

Today I looked out about 1 hour before we had to leave to open the store. Oh no! The snow was much deeper than I realized.

We went out to shovel and I figured that we’d just be late. Our driveway is long and the car was way up by the garage.

We set to work. I think it was about 6″ deep. We shovelled and shovelled.

Thank the Lord someone came by and did the main sidewalk with their snow-blower. Woo hoo!

Then the neighbor sent his teenager over to shovel the drivway. When the snowplow goes by it packs the snow so deep. I was inwardly cringing over the need to shovel that. I would pay for it with back pain for days.

Praise God! Then another neighbor came over with their snow-blower and did our side walk way and helped with the driveway.

Once again that may seem like a small thing but it is not.

It saved me so much time and so much pain!

Thank you Lord for sending people to help. Thank you for caring about my time constraints and my weak back.

NO – those are the things that are SO huge!!!!!

i don’t know how to relay that to people; it’s the things that others do without thinking that become such huge barriers to just standing up for us, you know?!

Oh, praise the Lord!!!!!! It’s all those “little things” that truly do make Him such a wonderful, wonderful Savior!

What a blessing that was for you! God knows when we can’t go on, doesn’t He?

That was always a big thing for me too, how to clear the driveway and get where I needed to go…..and I didn’t have back problems!
