I had one of those “aha” moments this morning.
Last night, Little Boy had an earache and didn’t sleep well.
I let him sleep until he woke up this morning which was quite late.
I worked around the house and smiled everytime I heard his snoring.
I was/am so thankful that he could sleep in. If he went out […]

Major changes

The last few weeks have brought major changes to my life.
I was so tired and extremely run down. I have been that way for a couple years. However, it was seriously taking a toll on my health.
I have gained weight (and I needed to lose weight in the 1st place!). I didn’t wake up rested […]

I just found out about Marriage Mondays thanks to Janean at JD’s Daze.
Christine at Fruit in Season hosts this.
I think I’ll play along!
How I encourage my husband right now is of course so different than many wives. I feel it’s very important though in our situation.
Here are some things I do for Lee.
1. Pray for […]

On Wednesday night when I visited my husband, I noticed a plaque I had been walking past.
It says, “In memory of Sargent Peter Toller “.
I think of Pete and Julie often. I had forgotten that he was a prison guard.
Many years ago, the spring and summer I was pregnant with my son, I cared for […]

Well the car is not fixed yet. Last time I drove by it was still parked on the road racking up parking tickets!
Actually the 1st night I didn’t get a ticket. My nephew said it would be towed this afternoon. We shall see.
He seems to think that fixing it will not be very costly.
A family […]

The ladies at church went out to eat together tonight.
Yesterday I emailed Pastor and told him I have no car, no money, and no babysitter. Just tell your wife I’m not going.
That was all true.
However, I know that when things are hard, I have a tendency to retreat into my cozy home and stay there.
Often […]

Worry

“Worry is allowing problems and distress to come between us and the heart of God. It is the view that God has somehow lost control of the situation and we cannot trust Him.
A legitimate concern presses us closer to the heart of God and causes us to lean and trust on Him all the more.”

I found this book search tool today at Simply Charlotte Mason.
You enter a topic you’d like to find a good book for and plug in which grade levels you need it for and it supplies a great list of excellent books.
It looks very usable to me.

I visited my husband tonight. Three times in one week! Wow!
Our visit went very well. We talked quite a bit. We even prayed together before I left. He told me what he’s read since he got there last Thursday.
Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, Joshua, and starting on Judges!
Phew!
He said he’s kind of mad at himself for […]
