He’s a reader folks
by adustyframe ~ March 2nd, 2007I’m so happy to report how well my son is doing with reading.
Of course I’m bursting my buttons since I’m the one that taught him how to read.
He reads things I’m reading while he stands across the table. So he’s reading upside down.
He read a sign on the door of the store–it was facing out, so that means he read it backwards!
He’s reading signs as we drive down the street, nutrition labels, bumper stickers, writing on public bathroom walls (oh no!).
Usually when we have school, he groans about reading. It is still work for him.
Today, I walked into the kitchen and he had pulled out his Level 2 Easy Reader book and was starting to read.
That is the 1st time he initiated reading and I am so happy.
Thanks for indulging me and my little report.

I like you believe God has His hand on little boy. You can be proud to see how God is using you to train and teach him. You have permission from me to brag. (You really don’t need my permission) Love you!!!!

de-lurking to say… WAY TO GO.
My son (not homeschooled) also struggled with reading until one day, it just clicked. Isn’t it amazing to watch their excitement at this new found ability. My only problem, he can now also spell. So I can no longer just spell words/conversations I don’t want him to hear.
Congrats!
