I got to visit tonight
by adustyframe ~ April 26th, 2007I called the prison this afternoon to find out if visiting was going to be possible tonight.
It was.
I got there as soon as visiting hours started. Several of the wives I saw this morning were there.
One came from 6 hours away. I felt so sad for her!
Apparently the power was back on in less than an hour this morning. We wouldn’t have minded waiting!
I got to visit Lee for 3 hours. We ate a huge, yummy piece of German Chocolate Cake. (so much for the no sugar thing tonight.)
Did I mention that there is a chef training program at the prison? They host a restaurant in the visiting area. Our huge slice of cake was $1.00.
We played some games and visited with each other.
We prayed before we left. Lee thanked God for this trial in his prayer.
I know that I’ve said so many times that I am often amazed at the changes I see in him.
I think I had my socks knocked off tonight.
He actually thanked God for this!
Ephesians 3:20
Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

Tell Lee that His thanking God for the trial reminded me I need to Thank God for trials I have. Lizzie, Lee and you are an encouragement to me. I pray for Lee, James and you lizzie often. I accept the trials ,but don’t always thank God for them and how He grows me through them.

Praise the Lord!
What a testimony to the changing power of God in the hearts of His people!
I realize that I have never thanked God for this trial in your life — this was very convicting.

Glad you got to spend some time with Lee despite the power outage. Mmmm, that cake sounded dee-lish!
Wow…thanking the Lord for this trial, huh? That’s pretty huge stuff. I’m very happy for Lee.
