I’ve been spoiled
by adustyframe ~ June 6th, 2007We had a nice visit with my family. They spoiled us quite a bit!
The past two weeks have been pretty crazy. Lots of driving. (Phew! Gas needs to go down huh!?).
Lots of thrift store shopping, giggling, staying up waaaaaaaaaaaaay too late!
James and I had a house full of company most days.
My sister kept him home on the afternoons I had to go to the store. She and James played with her little girl and cleaned up around my messy house.
She also listed some of my things on Ebay for me.
My other sister and her husband fixed a broken fence, got my lawn mower running, and a ton of other things for me.
We visited some tourist attractions and my brother in law paid for James and my tickets. He also put gas in my car, bought us lunch, and played “Guess Who?” with James over and over. (What a good uncle!). He let us stay with them in the hotel the 2 nights surrounding the wedding.
My Dad paid for some of our meals. He and Mom took the grandchildren to an amusement park and a zoo.
My sister bought me towels, put gas in my car, bought me some pieces of the dishes I am collecting, paid for a hotel room for one night so we could stay near them.
So many things more than this that I probably can’t even remember.
In some ways it was odd to have people forking over their hard earned cash for us. I’m not used to being so needy. It was truly a blessing though. I couldn’t have spent as much time with them or gone to all the fun things if I had to pay for it myself.
When my sister and her husband left they left me a gift of money. They said it was for an air conditioner if I wanted one.
I do want one but I’m thinking it may have to go for paying bills.
In any case, what a wonderful blessing to have family that loves us and tried to see and meet our needs.
**Oh! I forgot–the wedding was beautiful! I don’t think anything went wrong. Everything was perfect. We had a good time. Cried a bit! Did a lot of laughing and reminiscing. James was very handsome in his tuxedo.

What a huge BLESSING!!! So glad you had a wonderful time. How good to see a family caring for each other in a way that so honors our Lord. For you and James to have been showered with such LOVE is exciting.

I would think, that if they specified an air-con… perhaps they really want you to have one. (I hope this comes across written as carefully as it sounds in my head) Maybe you should phone them and ask if they would prefer you spoil yourself with it, or if they would mind if you paid bills.
I am so glad you had such a wonderful, blessed time. I hope you are feeling less discouraged.

How wonderful! I’m so thankful that the Lord was lavish in His love for you through the kind and generous gifts you received from family. You ARE loved. I hope you really know that!

I just want you to know what a blessing you are to me. I have been reading your blog via bloglines since the homeschool blogger awards. You are an amazingly strong woman, mother and wife and I’ve been honored to pray for you each time I read your posts.
I could feel the love your family has for you while reading this post and it brought tears to my eyes!

I’m much the same, I don’t like people spending money on me but your family sounds like a very generous bunch!

Wow, that’s wonderful! It’s awesome that you have such a caring, close-knit family! My parents just came to visit and it was the same…I went to work and found all sorts of things done when I got home. It’s such a blessing, especially when they help me with the things I can’t or don’t know how to do on my own. I’m glad you were spoiled for awhile….you deserve it!
