Going to Camp
by adustyframe ~ June 30th, 2007
James and I will be leaving for a week of camp on Monday.
I’m not sure if I will blog or not between now and then. I have so much to do to get ready to go!
We are both looking so forward to this time away.
We’re going to a family camp sponsored by our denomination’s camp.
When I first started thinking about this, I thought if I’m taking a week off, I just want to stay home!
Then I started thinking camp would be an easy way to take a vacation.
I’m not brave enough to take James across country on any sort of vacation. I don’t have the money for that either.
Thankfully, camp will be less than 2 nights in a cheap hotel. James earned the cost of his week at camp by learning Psalm 121, reading a book and reporting on it, and attending Sunday School for a certain time period. I only have to pay for the cost of one adult.
Here’s some of the good stuff
*No cooking
*Fun activities
*Other children for James to play with
*Chapel services
*Rest and relaxation
*We’re staying in a cabin
I did a little snooping around and found out that lots of single moms go to family camp. So I think we will be just fine. It’s not “marriage camp” but truly a camp for families to get away from it all.
Please pray that we will have a safe trip. (It’s not very far.)
Pray that we will be physically refreshed and relaxed.
Pray that it will be a time of spiritual growth and refreshment for both James and I.
Pray for Lee also. He’s already missing us knowing that he won’t get visited as much this week.
**Remember that I moderate comments so after Monday, your comments will have to wait until we get home.

Oh, I’m so glad!! Do rest. Even if it means you don’t go to the planned activities. This is the time that God is giving you and your son, and if you need to just sleep in or take a nap, do it. He grants sleep to those He loves. ENJOY!!

Lizzie, this is wonderful! Praying for a season of rest, being rocked in the hammock of our Lord’s loving arms, feeling the warmth of His Light soaking in, hearing His voice speaking over you. Praying for a fun and refreshing time for James. Praying that the week will go by in peace for Lee, passing his time in prayer and feeling very close to his sweet family. I’m so very happy for you!!

Sounds like a wonderful break! Hope you and James enjoy yourselves to the hilt. I pray the Lord minsters to you and James in a special way there and to Lee since he can’t be with you.

Lizzie, I’ve been traveling so I haven’t had the time to read. Your posts are always a blessing to me….how amazing that the Lord allowed you to talk to that other mom….I’m glad that you were able to share with her what you are going through. I’m thankful that you are willing to put into words what the Lord is doing in your life and the lives of James and Lee. I love you my friend! We’ll talk when you get home. ~ Joy
