Blogger Reflection Award

I mentioned this award the other day. Truly I am humbled and I want to thank you.

I prayed today about which blogs I should mention. It’s not a popularity contest. It’s not which blogs do I just like to check in on. I could post quite a few of those.

According to the originator of the award it’s for bloggers who have been an encouragement, a source of love, impacted you in some way, and have been a Godly example to you.

Here are just a few of the blogs that I read that meet this criteria.

1. Biblical Womanhood has been an encouragement to me. Crystal shares her thoughts on marriage, mothering, and homemaking in a refreshing way. She does not appear to be worried what others think of her. She tackles the hard subjects just as confidently as she posts about the “easy” things. I like her Frugal Fridays feature too! I can always use a good idea or two. Thank you Crystal for your blog and for your personal kindness to our family. You have been a blessing to me.

2. The Abundant Life. Christy shares her life in a sweet easy to read manner. I have been blessed by her quotes, ideas, and thoughts on marriage and motherhood. This post is an example of why I am blessed by her blog. I’ve seen some good healthy recipes on her blog too. Christy has also taken many occasions to encourage me either by email or comments here.

3. Windows to My Soul is another blog with posts that make me stop and think. This post particularly helped me to define my purpose for blogging. To tell you the truth, when I saw the blogger reflection award being passed around, I immediately remembered this post. I don’t blog to win awards or be nominated. YES, it’s very nice and fun and humbling. But that’s not WHY I blog. You either right? Victoria posts interesting quotes, thoughtful writings, and great resources.

4. Fruit in Season is another blog that encourages me. Christine hosts “Marriage Mondays” which is how I found her I believe. I am thankful for her emphasis on godly marriage and have been blessed to read what she writes as well as those who contribute to Marriage Mondays. I see she’s already received this award, but she can have another one.

5. Single Parents & Home Education. Maggie Raye writes about single parenting and home education. Before I started schooling James last fall, I seriously wondered if I was crazy to even consider this. I stumbled across Maggie’s blog and was so blessed to know that another single mom before me had stepped into the homeschool waters. I read her site and her links and found wonderful encouragement from God. I knew that if others have done this single, I can too. Thank you Maggie Raye for being there when I needed encouragement.

So there you have my list. As I’ve compiled it, I’ve thought–”Oh, what about this one?” or “What about that one?” and “Don’t forget so and so.” But I am going to stop now.

Please know that many of you and your blogs have been a tremendous encouragment to me. So have all your comments and prayers. You truly have been a source of strength to me through this blog and I thank God for you.

Here are the rules for those I nominated.

1. Copy this post.
2. Replace my bloggers with yours, reflect on five bloggers and write a least a paragraph about each one.
3. Make sure you link to so others can read it and the rules.
4. Leave your chosen bloggers a comment and let them know they’ve been given the award.
5. Put the award icon on your site.

Oh, what a blessing you are! Thank you, dear one. The Lord must have known I needed some encouragement this week. These other ladies are indeed a blessing too.
    Sending warm and grateful hugs…

    In His love,
    Vicki

  2. Windows to My Soul (Vicki)

PS–the first comment was made while I was logged into an old account. Disregard that particular link, but do not disregard my humble thanksgiving. Blessings!

  3. MaggieRaye

Wow! I’ve been out of the blogging loop so long, I use to be only 4-6 hours a day, now I might make that many hours a week. I’m glad people are still being encouraged by what I am sharing, as the Lord leads. I feel privileged to have been nominated. You’ve been a blessing to me as well.

    Hugs, MaggieRaye

  4. Christy

Thank you, Lizzie. You have been such an encouragement to me … your transparency, your kindness, your honesty and willingness. And more important, I see Jesus when I read your story. I see a painting forming with a masterful, loving, mighty hand brushing on the strokes. It’s so incredibly beautiful, sometimes all I can do is marvel. And to think, He’s doing the same thing for me and each dear soul who surrenders all to Him. I am stunned by His glory and His beauty.

Thank you for sharing the other ladies in this list. I’ve enjoyed finding some new ones that strike a chord in my heart and revisiting some I’ve seen and been blessed by before.

  5. Christine

Thank you so much. This award from you means a lot. I’ve always appreciated your candor, your heart for God and your journey toward godliness through the circumstances of your daily life. You are blessing to me!
