Angel Tree~ you can help this year

by adustyframe ~ July 20th, 2007

Our church’s packet for Angel Tree arrived today.

It’s mostly informational.

After last Christmas, I spoke with Pastor and told him I’d really like to see our church participate in Angel Tree. He told me to go ahead and sign us up.

We signed up for 10 children.

I’m a little excited to see how this works and I pray our church comes together to support these families in need of the Gospel and some encouragement.

I wrote about Angel Tree last year. Here is that post. Here is another one.

If you think your church would like to help, (5 children is all they ask you to sponsor!) here is where to go

To Donate directly to Angel Tree

To find a local contact

To participate

Please consider asking your church to be involved. As I read over the information today, I don’t see it being a huge horrible task.

I can tell you Angel Tree was a tremendous blessing to our home last year. I still can’t help but think about families like us that don’t even know Jesus.

How do they cope?

Perhaps you and your church would be the arms of Jesus to these hurting families.

    Lizzie,
Sounds like an excellent idea. The place I retired from did this each year. It was a blessing to be a part of. The Thank You notes showed how much the families apprecticated the gifts.

Angel Tree was a beacon in a very dark time for me. You can’t know the impact it has on a child to recieve something from their daddy, through the generosity of people who don’t even know them. it makes Jesus real to them, his love reaching out through these people, who want to keep a family connected.

PS please pray for my parents, there is some talk of my Dad being shipped out of state. this would make it impossible for my Mom to make her weekly visits, and could be hard on both of their health.

Esther:) I’m looking forward to participating in this as a giver.
I’m sure James will be a receiver again though too.

Mrs N. thanks for your testimony about being a recipient. I’m sorry to hear your Dad may be shipped out of state. I know from experience that the distance factor is VERY hard on families.
