Enjoying some blessings

by adustyframe ~ July 22nd, 2007

I’ve been enjoying some blessings these past few weeks.

First of all the new tires that my Dad paid for.

I felt an immediate difference when I pulled out of the parking lot. I’ll need new tires on the front for winter, but that gives me a few months to pray them in.

Second, the air conditioner my sister and her husband paid for.  Of course it pretty much cooled down as soon as my brother installed it.

Isn’t that the way it goes?

There have been a few hot days with some more on the way.

I’m thankful to be able to have a reprieve from the heat.

Third, when my brother got married, he suddenly had no use for his double bed!

Our double bed had a broken bed rail. (Some little boy who shall remain nameless had jumped too fiercely on Mom’s bed.) I had been sleeping on the box spring and mattress on the floor for a few months.

My brother and his new wife spent a weekend with us before James and I went to camp. He brought up his bed and put it together.

MMM! How wonderful to sleep on a “real” bed again.

Fourth, August’s schedule at the store was not coming together. A lady from church works for me in the summer. The other employees were on maternity leave, or summer mothering breaks.

My friend from church was scheduled to move to another state permanently this coming Tuesday. She makes me look good as a boss! She looks out for us, organizes, cleans, sees a need and fills it. She doesn’t have children at home, so she can work full days.

She has been a wonderful blessing to me and I was sad to see her go!

She came into the store on Friday and told me she was staying here until October.

I asked, “Is it ok if I’m happy about that?” She said it was, so I let out a big squeal.

I had prayed for God to help me work out the fall schedule especially August.

He has a way of making things come together if I only trust and let him lead.

Fifth, beautiful summer days at home. We’ve spent a lot of time outdoors the last few days. I truly enjoy hearing the wind rustle the leaves in the trees and hearing the birds sing.

I definitely enjoy watching my son go about the business of being a child too.

God is good to bless us in ways both great and “small.”

Psalm 68:19 Blessed be the Lord that daily loadeth us with benefits.
