A Dusty Frame is one year old

by adustyframe ~ August 13th, 2007

I can hardly believe it.

I remember last summer sitting in someones house and telling her that I felt God wanted me to start a blog about this journey we’re on. At that point it felt like a fuzzy idea. I wasn’t quite sure where it would go.

Mostly I figured it would be a place to record what God was doing. I thought it would be for me. I really didn’t think anyone would read.

God has shown me repeatedly that he definitely owns this blog. What’s happening here isn’t because of me. It’s all him and I am thankful that he can use me in this way.

I thought the other day that there are so many things about our story I still haven’t written. So many notes from my journal that still aren’t blogged.

I guess I’ll have to stick around for a little longer!

In one year, I’ve posted 444 posts. (Actually more but some were deleted when I cleaned things up).

There have been over 74,000 views (I posted that map in Jan! I should have done it as soon as I started.) The best day ever was when Shannon sent readers my way. Almost 4,000 views in a single day! (You know a blogger loves those stats!)

2,012 comments have been left.

I’m not quite sure where year 2 of A Dusty Frame will take me. I pray that I will keep doing what God desires of me. I want to continue to honor him in the telling of our story.

Thank you to each one who leaves a comment. Thank you to each one who tells me you’re praying. Thank you to each one that links to my blog. Thank you to each one that encourages all 3 of us.

You have been an unexpected blessing in all of this.

Please leave comments on these older posts I’ve shared here. Some were from awhile ago and perhaps you missed them. A lot of the posts I didn’t highlight are also my favorites. I just had to stop somewhere!

The quotes I’ve posted speak to me quite a lot as well as any of the passages from the Word of God.

I’ve been wondering how you found me? Do you remember? Let me know.

I’d also like to know which posts have been your favorites?

Stay tuned for some exciting changes around here! (My lips are sealed…..)

Happy blogiversary! I first found you through the “Hidden Treasures” blog contest Everyday Mommy sponsored, with the post “Honoring My Covenant.” It has been inspiring since then to read how you depend on the Lord day by day and how He meets your needs and takes care of you all. His had is definitely at work here, both physically and spiritually.

I read your blog everyday on bloglines, but rarely leave comments. But please know that I pray for you and your family. I believe I found your blog through Shannon, but I have kept reading because of your authenticity and courage as you go through the journey God has given your family. Some of my favorites that I had saved were your messages to a new bride and on how to bless a single mom. You have opened my eyes on ways to minister to and be sensitive to single moms in our church. Thank you!

Hi Lizzie! Happy blogoversary! I first found you through Shannon (sweet lady!), probably the link that netted you so many visits. I’ve been reading ever since. It’s hard to pick a favorite post, but the ones that come to mind first are “Honoring My Covenant” and “Ahhh” (from March 18), especially #2 on the list of neat things Lee shared with you. That just makes me sob every time I read it. Maybe because I was once in bondage to sin and have been set free. Reading the illustration Lee gave makes the reality of it wash over me all over again.

May God continue to shower you with His love and grace and Spirit. I’m so glad this blog was/is in His plan for you!! I love reading and have been deeply touched by so many things you’ve shared.

Happy 2 years. Mine is coming up later this month. I will go and read some of those other posts..I just had a look at ’2 years’….but it is time for bed and I need to sleep so I will come back refreshed (I hope) to read some more.

P.S- I have no idea how I found you :) Glad I did though.

Congratulations! I started reading some of the posts I had missed and the Chocolate Cake one is wonderful! I will keep reading as long as you keep blogging! Your not-so-anonymous friend, Tara

Happy Blogiversary! I found you via Shannon as well – again, probably the link that sent all the new traffic your way. Actually, I was new to blog reading at the time and was instantly drawn to yours. I love your honesty in you emotions, and your faith. You are inspiring.

I can’t wait to see what the next year brings!
