Please pray for Lee

by adustyframe ~ September 2nd, 2007

Please pray especially for my husband when you think of us this week.

He said to me this morning, “I don’t feel like I can do this one more day.”

I know that feeling. I’ve sat on my couch and cried and said, “God. I can’t DO this anymore.”

But we have to do this. We have to do more days.

Please pray for him to endure and that he will be encouraged and be aware of God’s presence.

This past week was rough on him for a couple of reasons.

First, I sent him some photos of James. Lee doesn’t like to see how much he’s growing. It makes him miss home so much.

I think that Lee needs to see photos of James though. He needs to see that he’s happy and doing fun things and yes that he’s growing so much.

Second, he called me one night and told me that his cell mate went to the “hole”. He did something inappropriate so he was hauled off. That means his fan and tv and the familiarity of a cell mate was gone. They had worked out how to get along and how to exist next to one another. Adjusting to new cell mates isn’t fun or easy.

I prayed for Lee that he’d not be lonely while he waited for a new cell mate. He stays in his cell when he’s “on the unit”. They have a day room with magazines and the newspaper and a tv or tables to play cards. Lee said that’s where all the fights start though so he won’t go out there.

Later this week, he got a new cell mate because this guy’s cell mate “went out.”

I didn’t know what Lee meant. Transferred to another facility?

“No! He had a heart attack and died on the floor in front of all of us.”

The inmates were locked in their cells while someone tried to shock him with the paddles. They all watched this man die.

Alone on the floor of a prison with no one that cared for him anywhere near.

That makes me sad. I KNOW that a lot of people die in prison. I KNOW that a lot of people should never leave prison. It’s just sad to think of dying like that and sad to think my husband had to witness this event.

He’s a caring man and while he won’t admit it, seeing others hurting or suffering hurts him.

So please pray for Lee. Last week left him feeling discouraged and drained.

The previous couple of weeks were a big trial in my life. I had things to deal with that were not fun and I was so tired.

We seem to be taking turns being tired and discouraged.

I appreciate your prayers. You have each been a wonderful blessing to both Lee and I.

Lizzie

I’m praying for you and Lee. It had to be terrible seeing that man die one the floor. I worry about that also. My husband has had one heart attack already. All you can do is let Lee know that you are there and standing by him. I sure hope he doesn’t get to discouraged. They need their will to live and keep going to get them through this.

    Hang in there.

    Pat,
Thank you. I worry about this same thing, but I have to trust God to bring Lee home healthy and whole.

It sometimes seems as though Satan attacks both marriage partners at once. It can be hard to be an encouragement when you yourself are in the midst of a trial. I will certainly be praying for Lee and for you as well.

Thank you, Revka. Satan wants both of us to give up and he’s fought us very hard. We appreciate your prayers so much.
