“Please help me not to be scared”
by adustyframe ~ November 5th, 2007James prays this every night.
I asked him many months ago what he is scared of. He said, “That Dad’s not home.”
Prison is a big ugly frightening thing. Not having Daddy around is too.
I remember when I was a little girl, we listened to Music Machine. One of the songs was “Peace”. One line said, “Knowing that my Daddy’s home. God gives me peace…”
I know this feeling. Sometimes my Dad had to travel to Pastor’s meetings. When he was gone, I didn’t feel as safe as I did when he was home.
James and I talk about trusting God. I tell him that sometimes I get scared about things too. We have learned the verse, “What time I am afraid I will trust in thee.” Still this is a struggle in my little boy’s life.
Please pray with me that God will remove this fear from my son’s heart.

This is a “fear” in our home, too. God made men the protectors … and children know this instinctively. May your son be covered with God’s peace as he sleeps tonight.
Would you consider posting this on The Covering?

At least the Big Daddy is ALWAYS home. I am praying He will comfort your sweet one and also comfort you.

This blog really tore at my heart. Sometimes when I am scared I think of myself on Jesus lap with the strong arms of Jesus wrapped around me. I know I am always in Gods care. A little boy hasn’t learned that complete trust and faith in Gods total care yet. We will be praying. Thanks for sharing this need.
