Thank you Veterans
by adustyframe ~ November 11th, 2007I heard this song years ago and always find it touching. This video is the music but not the pictures I originally saw with it.
I am thankful for all of our veterans. My father in law fought in WWII, my Dad enlisted in Viet Nam but injured his back. I know many other veterans and am thankful for each of them.
If any of you or your husbands are serving or have served, I thank you as well.
This summer, a man in our church passed away. He was a friend of my father in laws and had grown up near my father and mother in law when they were all children. He had if I remember correctly 2 purple hearts from his service in WWII.
His burial service was with full military honors. It was amazing to see the 21 gun salute, the honor guard standing at the cemetery as the hearse pulled in, the way they folded the flag to present to his wife.
Thank you Veterans.
We haven’t forgot the price you have paid
You’ve given us the freedom that we enjoy today
And everyday I thank my God for sending those like you
Who care for the future
The dreams of me and you
The red is for the blood
The blue is for the bruise
The white is for the eyes
Who fought for me and you
So lift our hearts today filled with gratitude and praise
For the veterans of the USA
We thank the families
Who gave your precious gifts
The cost is greater than all your fears
And when the flag waves high
Our hearts are filled with pride
You’re the reason America is still alive
And I know there are so many of you
Standing with all of us today
We take this moment to say thank you
For freedom in the USA
