This and That

by adustyframe ~ November 13th, 2007

My blood test results came back completely normal.

That is good. I’m thankful that I’m not dealing with a major health issue. I did hope to receive some answers to the way I’ve been feeling. I’m not sure where we’re going from here. The Dr. suggested a sleep study and something else which I can’t think of right now.

Today was the first day of my store’s closing sale. We were swamped. I was very happy with the final sales total of the day.

Please pray with me that the sales will continue to be high over the next weeks. I have so much to do before the end of the month.

I am praying that this sale will net me enough money to live on for December and January. I will start piano lessons in January and have already started advertising and receiving some inquiries.

Angel Tree is in full swing at church and I’m having difficulty getting in touch with some of the families. I’m the coordinator  so  I have a lot to do. Smack in the middle of the month that I’m closing my store.

James birthday party is this weekend–more to do! I’ve thought in the past that this child of mine doesn’t need a birthday party every year. Then I think that it’s a small way to keep his life “normal” and so I decided it’s worth the work. I spent a total of $11 on supplies for the party so I think that’s pretty affordable.

Marriage seminar is Thursday. I’m looking forward to that, but I have so much to do and that will be the entire day. Thursday night, Gigi and the other girls and I are meeting again for the Bible study that we’re doing with other prisoner’s wives. I have an assignment to get done for that too.

So I said all that to say, please pray for me. This is a really busy week and I have so much to do and so little time.

Please pray too that the sales at the store will be high each day.

Wow, just reading about the next upcoming couple of weeks makes me tired!

You’re always in my prayers, Lizzie, but I’ll add these specifics now. ;)

    Hope those sales stay strong!

    Thanks Jenn!

Wow. You have your hands full! Thinking of you and praying about the specifics you shared. Praying you find an answer to your health issues also.

When my husband’s gone on trips or deployed (he’s military), I find I am more tired. You have had a very long “deployment,” and I agree with Jenn, I’m also tired just reading about your next few weeks.

I recently developed some food allergies, they made me very tired. After going on an elimination diet, I need less sleep every night and feel much less tired. If allergies run in your family, you might want to try an elimination diet. It also cuts out sugar, and is a very healthy diet free from processed foods and with a lot of vegetables, this should be an energy booster for anyone. (Mostly, you eat veggies, olive oil, turkey, lamb, and yams. You eat lunch/dinner food for breakfast–I find the protein in the morning also helps my energy levels.) When you’re done with a 2 week trial period, if you felt better, you add back foods one at a time and see which ones are making you feel poorly. If there was no change, you can go back to your old eating habits. Google “elimination diet” if you want to try it.

Thank you. I will try to start doing better about all this in December when I hopefully will have more time.

At least they have ideas for more tests. It is so frustrating when they can’t FIND what is wrong…cuz if you can’t find it, you can’t FIX it. And sounds like you need to really be on top of your game right now!
    WOW.
    Prayers! Definitely!

    Thank you, Janean

  5. Beth

Your platter is full. Our prayers are with you each day.

    Thank you, Beth!

I have to echo ElizabethB. Poor diet was a big factor for me when I was at my lowest (in addition to high stress). When you’re that weary, though, it’s really tough to get off sugar and starches and things you crave. If there’s anything I can do to help, let me know. I have lots of healthy recipes at my Eat Well blog.

Thank you Christy. I hope to have more time to take better care of myself soon.I will take a peek at your recipes.

  7. Marie

I don’t have any healthy recipes, but I’m praying for you girl!

My prayers are also with you…..I too struggle with being tired and not sleeping….I have started to excerise 20 min a day …walking or stationary bike…and it has really helped….I watch Joyce Meyer while walking on my treadmill …. so I am getting the word in at the same time. Lizzie you are great mom…..you can do all things thru Christ….He will give you the wisdom and the strength. God Bless, Pam, South Bend

Thank you so much for your prayers and encouragement.
