Happy Thanksgiving

   (Freedom from Want Norman Rockwell)

I’d like to wish each of you a very happy Thanksgiving.  (Even if you’re not from America–we all can use a day of thanks right?)

I will be hosting some friends who don’t have family in the area.  I plan to make it very casual. Thursday is my only day off this week due to the going out of business sale. I usually close this entire weekend, but not this year.

James wants to watch the Macy’s parade, and I want to take it easy.

I am always blessed to spend time thanking God for his marvelous works.

The one that always amazes me is that he is doing this work in our lives. That James and I have been provided for all these years even when it seemed impossible.

God is good.

1 Chronicles 29:11-13

“Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power
and the glory and the majesty and the splendor,
for everything in heaven and earth is yours.
Yours, O LORD, is the kingdom;
you are exalted as head over all.

Wealth and honor come from you;
you are the ruler of all things.
In your hands are strength and power
to exalt and give strength to all.

Now, our God, we give you thanks,
and praise your glorious name.”

    A very happy Thanksgiving to you!

    Ours is pretty casual, too, and pretty laid-back except for the food preparation. But we eat in the early afternoon, so once the kitchen is cleaned up I’m “off” and everyone heats a plate of leftovers or makes a turkey sandwich when/if they get hungry again.

    I’m praying for your family, especially Lee — I would imagine it would be hard to celebrate such a home-based holiday when he can’t be home, but I hope the Lord will minister to him in a special way today.

    Thank you for your prayers, Barbara. We appreciate them so much.

    Hope you have a lovely day and get to chill a bit 🙂
