He has felt often like giving up lately. He says that he is not sure that prayer works.
He said that every time he starts reading the Bible and praying again, something happens to discourage him.
I have been so blessed to hear him share things with me from the book I previously mentioned.
I know that God […]

I participated in a Cozy Sisters Swap last fall.
I failed to remember my anonymity when I signed up! Oops!
Saralyn was a good sport though. She patiently waited until my friend brought her package to me.
I got it long after she sent it but that’s not her fault.

Barbara at Stray Thoughts sent me this lovely award.
She said, “I admire her honesty and the evidence of grace and God’s strength as she deals with being a temporary single mom while her husband is incarcerated. The lessons of faith her family has been learning have been a joy to witness”
Thank you for your encouragement. […]

So we are reading it together. We’ve been talking about things we read or illustrations we like when I visit.
One illustration we both liked […]

At the beginning, when I looked at this stretch of time, God sent a quiet peace in my heart that James and I would be alright. I knew then as I know now that God would provide for us.
Many of the ways […]

I went to visit Lee on Christmas Eve.
The visiting room was decorated. A tree stood in the corner its lights twinkling brightly. A toy train chugged around the base, happily unaware of its location.
The air was full of the sounds of people in a festive mood. Lots of loud talking, laughter, and smiles.
There was a Santa […]

Our Christmas

James and I had a wonderful Christmas. We spent the whole day in our jammies! We rarely do that so it was a special comfortable treat.
For some reason this Christmas, the gifts under the tree were a huge pile. We celebrate Christmas simply on purpose. We limit the gifts and choose them carefully.
I […]

It’s not easy!
Everyone says forgiveness is a lovely word,
until they have something to forgive.
C. S. Lewis
We talk a good forgiveness line as long as somebody else needs to do it, but few of us have the heart for it while we are dangling from one end of a bond
broken by somebody else’s cruelty.

More note from Family Camp this summer.
Understanding your privilege and obligation to accept and give forgiveness.
Paradigm of forgiveness: What have we learned?
*God has addressed the issue of forgiveness: our need to seek forgiveness and grant forgiveness.
*God’s Word acknowledges that serious real life offenses take place which require a Biblical response.
*God’s perspective on forgiveness focuses on […]
