I think the cost of prison phone calls interferes with a person's Constitutional Right to Due process.

So often, people are arrested off the street, thrown into jail or prison with their only access to the world being expensive phone calls. They don't always know phone numbers by memory (everything stored in a cell phone now days) and aren't allowed to access those numbers (no cell's allowed in jail).

Time is so important in a legal situation and by forcing UN-convicted citizens being held in a correctional facility to endure such limited and expensive access to communicate with people who can get evidence for them and arrange attorney visits is completely and totally unjust and thrusts a sword into what the Fifth Amendment right to Due Process was supposed to protect.
