This week my Works of God is his marvelous provision.

I am blown away at how good he is–even when I face discouragement or have questions.

I wish each of you a blessed Christmas.

I pray that your weekend will be relaxed and joyful.

Take time to ponder the amazing gift he gave us when he sent his Son.

Merry Christmas.

Lizzie

    Merry Christmas!

    Thank you, Chel! You too!

  2. Jen

I came across your blog through Crystal. I’ve bookmarked it and will be back soon. I cannot imagine going through all that you are, but God is good – All the time. Isaiah 55:8-9 are my life verses.

Jen, you are right. God is good all the time. No matter what we think or feel.

    Merry Christmas Lizzie!

    Thank you, Robin! You too.

Dear Lizzie, Greetings in Christ. Just found this. I’ve read many entries so far, going back to the beginning. Praying God to send your husband home. We could be you, somehow God has chosen to spare us many times. There were times that my husband going to jail would have been a comfort to me. I used to have a wonderful name/reputation in the community – no longer! But getting closer to God has been worth it. I have few feelings for him but I do trust God. What would you recommend? Also, I am getting a Christmas bonus and I want to use it to bless an incarcerated family, how do I do this? God bless you Lizzie, your writings give me hope. Love, Susan

    Susan,
((Hugs))–I’m sorry for what you’re dealing with. You’re right though–getting closer to God is so worth it.

I think in regard to your husband, the advice I always give is to be sure that you are right before God for your actions and attitudes. I know myself that was such a huge job and God showed me how far I had to go that it was much easier to forgive my husband. One book I highly recommend is A Woman After God’s Own Heart by Elizabeth George.
I also really learned from Lies Women Believe and the Truth that Sets Them Free by Nancie Leigh DeMoss.

As far as helping an incarcerated family, you could try to contact the chaplain at your local jail. I don’t know how much they keep track of the families though. You can also donate to Angel Tree (Prison Fellowship). I don’t know otherwise how you’d find a family to help. We like to stay under the radar and don’t usually broadcast too loudly that our loved one is in jail!
