“Scrapbooking Can Be Good”
by adustyframe ~ February 8th, 2008James looked at our wedding album tonight. I think he’s been missing his Daddy quite a bit lately.
He poured over the pages and read things aloud to me. He laughed over some things and just soaked in his Daddy.
He said, “Hey Mom, scrapbooking CAN be good because you can remember the past.”
Exactly buddy! What a smart little boy I have, huh?

I so look forward to the post describing your little boy jumping into his daddy’s arms as he walks in the front door a free man.
Praying for that day!
Kim
Sounds wonderful to me!

I pray James doesn’t have to miss him much longer and that when Lee comes home, he’s fully equipped to serve as husband and daddy and in any capacity God calls him to. Regarding scrapbooking, it’s wonderful and it can become an idol like everything else. God help us to have moderation in all things! I wish I had more time to do it but I’m glad I don’t have too much time if you know what I mean. God bless you Lizzie and may He keep all of you safe. Love, Susan
Susan, thanks for praying. You’re right that we have to guard that nothing becomes an idol. I approach scrapbooking as a telling of God’s blessings and working in our family so hopefully that’s honoring to him. I haven’t had any time to do it lately either so no worries there….

Pam, I’ve had such a full plate! I will try to do that before very long.

I love what scrapbooking does for our families. They draw us together and get everyone talking. This weekend I made a page for my daughter, so that sent my boy in asking where page was! I did a long awaited one for him. It amazes me how much they enjoy the new pages–even at almost 12 and 13. I like it, too, that both make their own pages from time-to-time.
Have you seen the books “Out of Bounds” or “Imperfect Lives?” Both deal with scrapbooking the less than wonderful moments of life, like what your family is going thru. You can find links to them here on my “Best Scrapbooking Books” listmania list http://www.amazon.com/Hopewell-s-Favorite-Scrapbooking-books/lm/R25YJY0TA1AVIG/ref=cm_lm_byauthor_title_full
Neat:)! I will have to peek at that book.
