Knitting
by adustyframe ~ February 11th, 2008I’ve been knitting a few project here and there. One thing I needed to finish was my brother’s scarf. It was his Christmas present! Oops! (It went out in the mail today!)
I made it from an Eddie Bauer wool sweater that I bought at the thrift store for $1.00.
I found instructions online once to learn how to do this. I have only recycled two sweaters. It’s pretty messy and time consuming. It’s a pretty cheap way to get several balls of wool yarn though. Here is another tutorial.
It’s also much more fun to unravel someone else’s knitting–that part is fun.
I just found this merino wool sweater at the thrift store and started working on it. It’s such a pretty color of yarn. Most of the wool sweaters I’ve found are black or grey–blech!
I found a cashmere sweater that was incredibly soft, but the yarn looked so tiny that I didn’t want to chance ruining it by unraveling it.
