Making your Marriage a Love Story

by adustyframe ~ February 17th, 2008

My husband picked up this book in the prison chapel. He has been reading it this week.

He read some portions of it to me over the phone. He’s excited about the things he read and of course that makes me excited!

He said he originally picked it up because he wanted to find things to practice writing his calligraphy. He thought maybe there would be quotes in there he could copy to send me.

Well, somewhere in this book it talks about reading Song of Solomon together. So, he copied passages from it and sent them to me in a card.

I have to tell you that I have read Song of Solomon before and have not blushed. But reading it copied to me by my husband definitely produced a blush.

(I hope that’s ok to share here! I do try to be tasteful.)

I couldn’t help thanking God for letting my husband see this book. I think that perhaps I should pick it up.

I thought I was keeping up with you, and then my blog reader says 5 new posts! ;)
    Good stuff though!
It’s a good thing that your husband can make you blush with quotes from Song of Solomon! A very good thing! I’m confident that it warms the heart of God! :)

Thanks:)! I thought about your statement that it warms the heart of God a few times. I think you’re right.

Send Proverbs 5:18-19 back to him if you dare. That’ll catch his attention. (wink) Or you can wait until he’s home (that day is getting nearer and nearer!) and leave it on his pillow for him to find after James is in bed asleep.

Ooo, I’ll have to look that one up:)

Looks like a wonderful book. I like your husband’s idea of using calligraphy to copy some of the quotes. Very cool!

Thank you, Rebekah. You’re exactly right about how things look bad yet God can bring such good.

Hm, I’ll have to try to find this book. I love marriage books, and I think your husband’s response was great. :) Our husbands should say things (to us – LOL!) that make us blush. :)
