I have a feeling it’s going to be big!

Marriage seminar is this Thursday. I’m so excited.

I’m sure when I say I’m so excited, you’ll imagine me jumping up and down and shouting.

That would be wrong. I am very calm and even tempered. The biggest reaction I have when excited is a smile.

So, while I’m not jumping up and down, I am still very excited.

This day of being with my husband and  sitting next to him means a lot to both of us.

I feel like we’ve made a huge step together in our marriage this past month. God is so good and he continues to work in our lives.

Earlier this month, Lee was in segregation due to being stabbed. I prayed that he wouldn’t be in there so long that we’d miss this seminar at the end of the month.

Thankfully, he was cleared and life resumed to our “normal”.

He filed the paper for funds to be moved out of his account to pay for the seminar. I asked him last week if he got the confirmation slip yet. He said that he had.

As far as I could tell we were all set.

This morning, James and I both woke up feeling crummy from a cold setting in. That isn’t good news. I could stumble through a day at the prison with no pain relief or cold medicine (can’t carry it in) but I can’t take James to grandma’s for the day if he’s sick. She just finally recuperated from a long bout with the  flu.

I prayed like crazy all morning. We dosed up on fruits and veggies, Vitamin C, and tea tree oil. We drank lots of water and took it easy today.

My Titus 2 friend said that she would watch James if Grandma can’t!

Praise the Lord, we’re back on track.

I got home this afternoon from errand running. As I checked my phone messages, I heard one from the prison chaplain.

Let me just say that ANY call from the prison sets my heart aflutter. I don’t really get calls from them and for a split second I wondered if they were going to tell me that Lee was hurt.

No, nothing like that. She told me that we are not paid for the seminar. She called Lee into her office and he insists that he paid. She said that they traced it through the business office and can’t find any payment.

I was thankful it was a message, because I had to struggle quite a bit to keep myself from bursting into tears.

I took money out to the prison tonight to put on Lee’s account. I am praying that two business days will be enough to get it paid for. I will call the chaplain tomorrow to tell her  that Lee has money on his account now and can she please call Lee up again and ask him to fill out the money transfer request.

I simply don’t know if there is enough time to get it done before Thursday morning.

I know that I get so excited about the seminar because I am so close to tears when I think about not going.

I sat at my desk telling myself, “It will be ok if I can’t go on Thursday.” But really, it will be hard if I cannot.

I believe that this week’s seminar must really have something that we need because it seems that at every turn something is blocking the way for us to attend on Thursday.

Please pray with me about this tomorrow.

On a funny note, part of the chaplain’s message said, “I hope this won’t cause big problems between the two of you.”

Haha! Why would it cause problems between us? The only problem I see is that someone needs to figure out where our $12 went from the first payment.
