Sharing some more practice

by adustyframe ~ March 9th, 2008

Here are some more practice photos from the last few weeks. I’m learning a lot and improving I think, but I still have so much more to learn. I have been shooting all in manual now which forces me to learn a lot!

It’s actually a little disheartening trying to learn the camera and the photo editing at the same time. One day, I felt like giving up.

“I can’t do this!” I wailed to the Lord.

It was almost as though he spoke to me as plain as day, “You prayed for this, I provided, and yes you certainly can do this. Get busy!”

One really awesome blessing is that I found Photoshop Elements for $25.00 on Amazon! I am very thankful to have a program to use that I could afford. Maybe someday when I get rich and famous, I’ll go for the full photoshop program but not right now!

Here are some little cuties.

The pictures are so nice. I’m glad you are able to get the practice that you need. I love the one that has the kids feet in it.

Great pictures! I love the feet one, I like pictures of little feet :)

You most definitely can do it and God will provide, don’t you ever forget it.

I like them! :) Only suggestion would be to watch the light exposure. The brightness in some of them is too much. A bit stark to the eyes. Other than that, love the composition and how you capture the kids’ joy! :)

Thanks:) Which ones did you think are too bright?
I will admit I’m having trouble with all these pale children I’m practicing on;). But I’m happy that I’m not underexposing them–that was my 1st problem;0. So much to learn.

    Lizzie,
It’s quite obvious from these wonderful pictures that you are following the right path. God has most definately blessed you with talent!

Love the photos, Lizzie. You are definitely making headway. I know how frustrating it can be to learn a photo editing program!

The PSE deal was great, and if it makes you feel better about it, I have heard that program is much more user friendly than the full-blown PS and only lacks a few advanced functionalities that even programmers don’t use very often.

Hey! I have a few questions. How did you learn to edit your photos? I have the full version of CS2, and I feel like I can’t figure out how to do anything. Did you use a book or program to help you out? Also, how do you upload to the web? I use blogger, and I wanted to put up a photo I shot, but it was too huge, so they wouldn’t let me post it. Just looking for a little help here. Thanks…

Hi, I did a lot of googling!;) I still am not very good at it.

I checked out a book at the library that was helpful it was by Scott Kelby. I guess he’s written books for all the versions.
There should be an option after you edit and save your photo, then save for the web. Resize it to 500 pixels.

Hope that helps;) I’m definitely not the expert yet.
