Postage Due

Lee sent a letter that was short on postage. I put the slip and money out today for the mailman.
He knocked on the door this afternoon to tell me he’ll drop it off tomorrow or Thursday.
Then he said in a quiet whisper, “It was from the prison!”
He spoke in the same tones one would use to say, “It was covered in dog doo.”
I smiled at him and said, “Ok.”
I don’t know if he was fishing for info or if he couldn’t imagine a nice girl like me getting mail from the prison.
I thought about telling him it was from my husband, but I though it wouldn’t be nice to shock him on purpose.
At least I know I’m getting something in the mail from my honey soon.

well, and if you’re goin for the shock … set up a camera ahead of time
