My eyes
by adustyframe ~ June 2nd, 2008I think something is wrong with my eyes.
When I look at Lee, I see my husband, my friend, my man! I think he looks so good. It’s so wonderful to be able to see him out of his prison greens and in real clothing and settings other than the prison.
I took some photos of Lee the other day. I thought he looked fine if I do say so myself.
Other than the wedding ring photo I shared with you already, I didn’t get any “keepers”.
When I downloaded the photos, I saw what the camera saw. He looks rough.
His eyes look so tired. His face looks haggard. His shoulders look like they carry the weight of the world.
I looked at my computer screen wondering how I didn’t see that before?
I know how I missed it. It’s because I look at him through a filter of love.
I was thinking about this and realized that God looks at us the same way.
We are haggard, weighed down, and tired. We are sinners in desperate need of his grace.
He sees us through the filter of the sacrifice of Christ. He loves us and looks at us as his precious children.

Beautiful comparison, Lizzie.
Hopefully he will look more rested as time goes on.
