I was at Tennessee Temple the same time Kim Buffington was. It was actually her friend who lost her husband after a very short marriage. Kim wrote the song and TTU's drama teacher wrote a play about the story. One thing I remember hearing about the story is how wonderful the friend thought people were when they came and just cleaned her house or did her laundry after all the other well meaning people had "left her" to grieve alone. It was Christianity in action instead of just words of sympathy.

I wanted to share with you my story of this song.

During the summer of 1986 I spent several weeks as a camp counselor at the Bill Rice Ranch. I had just finished my sophomore year of college.

While there, I auditioned to sing in the Summer Singers, as the special music group there was called.

One of the first songs we learned was this one. It had not even been published yet with anyone. Our sheet music had been done on a computer and then printed out for us. I think the title was even hand written.

I believe it is one of the most powerful songs I have ever sung.

I'm so glad you found it online, and that it has been a blessing to you.

In Him,
Alesha

Wow! Did they tell you the same story about the writer's finance dying?
