I went to the grocery store with cash the other day. It actually was a really nice feeling.
I’m enjoying working harder at preparing simple homemade food that costs less. It sort of feels like a challenge.
Although, I was very careful with the food stamps, the simple truth is that I don’t have as much to spend now and so I have to figure out a few things.

We won’t be able to afford some of the natural treats that I liked to purchase for James, so I’m looking for good recipes. I don’t want to resort to too many pastas, and potatoes, although if we have to we will.

When we shopped the other day, I had to put a few things back. Then I forgot the cat needed food, so we did go very slightly over the amount I had planned to spend. I wasn’t able to stock up on some great sales like I would have in the past. But all in all it was a good trip and it was a GREAT feeling to pay for my own groceries.

I have started a part time job this week. We’ll see how that goes. So far so good! I prayed for something that would fit in with certain priorities and parameters and I found this. I don’t believe it was an accident!
God is good to provide things just at the time we need them. I’ve seen this over and over, so I really should not be concerned about things ahead of time but I still struggle with this!
