Update on The Love Dare book
by adustyframe ~ November 14th, 2008I shared earlier that Lee bought The Love Dare book for one of his co-workers.
He said that today, the guy said to him, “I don’t think this is going to work. We were supposed to start doing it together, but she won’t do it with me. We argue everytime I bring it up.”
Lee told him, “Man you’re supposed to do it for her don’t worry if she doesnt want to!”
He said that he just wants to give up and quit. I told Lee that’s interesting because that’s what the character in the movie wanted to do.
Lee said this man says he’s saved and that his wife isn’t. If you think of them pray for strength for him to hold on and not give up on his marriage.
Seeing Lee concerned about our marriage and the marriages of others blesses my heart in ways I can’t even put into words!

Something that people like this man seem to miss (but Lee caught) is that we are supposed to do our part as unto the Lord whether the other person does or not. I had to learn that first as a saved teen in an unsaved family. I was tempted to disrespect them for all that was going on in our home (alcoholism, adultery, etc.) but one day it hit me right between the eyes that the commands to honor and obey them weren’t qualified by whether they were saved or living right. I was supposed to obey and honor (their position, even if I could not respect all their actions) anyway. Then later I saw that carried over into all relationships.
It’s great to see the insight Lee is developing!

I’ll pray for them, God knows them. I’ve seen the movie and you’re right; it sounds just like the characters. I pray Lee can continue to encourage the husband just as Kirk (don’t remember his name) was encouraged by his father in the movie to keep at it regardless of his wife actions. I haven’t been blogging in a long time so I’m just slowing getting back and catching up and I can’t tell you how thankful I was to read of Lee’s release. I don’t know if you remember me or not, but I prayed alot for both of you. Take care and be blessed. Stop by some time, I’m slowing getting back.
