Press On

by adustyframe ~ November 24th, 2008

We’re facing some of our hurdles this week. The past couple of weeks have been long and we are tired.

Lee is discouraged and I am sometimes. I was listening to my new CD today and heard this song. It brought tears to my eyes as everything seems to do these days.

But the words are so true. In Jesus name and strength we CAN make it. We can hold on and plow ahead and face hard days with strength.

Someone said to me recently that they admire the grace and dignity I’ve displayed through this trial. I told them that it’s only because of God. I could have never faced this without him.

You can’t face your life without him either can you? We all need to hold onto our beloved Saviour and let him offer us his strength.

Take a minute to listen— We Press On

When the mountain is steep
when the valley is deep
when the body is weary
when we stumble and fall

When the choices are hard
when we’re battered and scarred
when we’ve spent our resource
when we’ve given our all

In Jesus name we press on
In jesus name we press on
dear lord, with the prize
clear before our eyes
we find the strength to press on

Lizzie

    Dear Lizzie,
I love that song….I have listened to it many times turned up loud in my car and crying my eyes out….thanking the Lord the whole time that He gives me the strength to press on. Please know there are many of us praying for your family to be reunited soon…very soon….you have been an inspiration but I’m sure you are tired. Continuing to pray…..Pam

Thank you for praying so faithfully for us. You’re right, we are tired.

  2. Rebecca

    Dear Heavenly Father,
You are in control and you are our shelter from life’s storms. Please protect Lizzy, Lee and James. Be with them in comfort, peace and love. Thank you for Lizzy’s ministry to me and her dependence on you. Her love for You is such a great testimony. In Jesus’ Holy Name,
    Amen

Thank you, Rebecca for praying for us.

I haven’t heard this song before, but it really is a rich prayer. Without Him beside us, how would we even get out of bed in the morning!! You’re in my prayers.

    Lizzie,
I have thoroughly enjoyed my visit with you here today! Thank you for your transparency and your desire to give glory to God.
Regarding everything bringing tears to your eyes lately…I was having a really difficult day recently and just couldn’t stop crying. My daughter asked me why I was crying so much and I just told her there were soooooo many emotions going on inside me and they were all trying to come out of my tear ducts.
Crying can be a good thing, but sometimes I wish I could get it under control. Know what I mean???
    Happy Thanksgiving to you!

I love this song too. It is so encouraging as I am in a season of life where I need to just trust God and press on. The mountain is steep and the valley is deep, but God is the strength of my heart!
