How you can help…
by adustyframe ~ December 22nd, 2008As you know, my life situation has changed recently.
I am applying for part time jobs and have put out an ad for piano lessons.
Do you know what you can do for me?
1. Pray that God will give me wisdom.
2. Pray that I will find a way to make money and homeschool my son. I am currently working on piano students and childcare in my home.
3. If you are buying on Amazon, you can use my box on the right side and I do get credit.
4. Yes, the google ads do make money for me. I’m not getting rich by any means, but they do pay some.
5. You can sign up under me on Swagbucks. Here is my referral linkand here is a post about it on another blog.
6. You can share my Dusty Attic shop or my Etsy shop with people.
Thank you to those who have been so encouraging to me. I appreciate your prayers so much!

Dearest Lizzie, you and your family continue to be in my prayers…you seem to be such a Godly wife and mother…I pray you will have a peacefilled…Christ centered Christmas.
Even though we don’t know each other the Lord knows us both….He knows our hearts and gave us the greatest gift of all…Salvation thru his son Jesus Christ…I am glad to share that gift with you this Christmas. I found you when looking for a support site for a friend of mine….please include “S” in your prayers this Christmas….her husband was just sentenced to 57 months for a white collar crime. She is a teacher, they have been married over 35 years and have never spent any time apart…God Bless you Lizzie and your outreach ministry. Pam, South Bend

Lizzie,
I have been reading your site for a while now. I confess that you have opened my eyes to a whole group of people, families with loved ones incarcerated, that I had never considered before. Thank you for your raw honesty and vulnerability. I am now praying every day, that God will bring about some great blessings through this hard trial and that you and your husband would shine like GOLD after all the refining…. I’ll be watching anxiously for word that he is coming home and praying for all your needs in the meantime.

I do pray for you. I will try to remember to use your link when I shop at Amazon–I go there often, LOL…
I referenced you in my blog post today–I have been inspired by the way you have stood by your husband through these trials.
Blessings,
Paula

Don’t give up. It took so much longer than I wanted, but God led me to the right job to be able to homeschool. Along the way we had trips to the church food pantry, cash donations, etc. He is Faithful and WILL meet your needs. You have been faithful all this time. You will find the opportunity you need. What about BEFORE/AFTER school care?? It is so horribly expensive at the in-school or daycare center programs {I really know this!!] that may kids go home alone. A simple snack, game time, homework help, a PBS show or two if the weather is crummy. Many, many parents would be grateful. If your school district has transportation they can be picked or dropped at your door. Put up something on Craigs list, in grocery stores, send to Churches, schools, etc. Walk neighborhoods with your fliers. Summer care is an even larger expense. And it’s always the same: melty beads and other stupid crafts, outdoor play, swimming day, movie day. It pays VERY well. My niece, a teacher, did this in the summer till her baby was born. Over $400 a week to go to the [private] pool with 4 kids each day! An account at the snack bar, gas card, movie money, etc.
Just thoughts! You know I’m praying!

Thanks for your writing. We minister to college students as missionaries and have been involved with students who get in trouble with the law and end up in jail. Since dh is a minister, he’s been to visit the jail and meet with court appointed attorneys. Now the table is turned as our son was arrested last Thurs. The only reason they have a case is because he of his honesty. One thing led to another. However, he was in the wrong. We live in small town and the jail is ‘safe,’ so we left him there 3 days. He’s out now on bail. We are high profile in our community and that can be a good thing and a bad thing. I can now pray with more knowledge for you and your family. This is his first offense. He’s a good kid, he just lacks direction and focus and is stagnant in his christianity. We pray this is a wake up call. I’d like to ‘talk’ further, but want to be sensitive to your energy level, time, etc.
