Merry Christmas

by adustyframe ~ December 24th, 2008

My sister and her husband are here. My brother and his wife are here. One little boy and his mom, 2 cats, and a dog!

The house is full of laughter and love. I think I know how my Mom must feel when we all come home. It’s very comforting to see these faces around my table and hear the laughing and wrestling and teasing that goes with the family being all in one place. (Well, we’re not quite ALL in one place. My parents, sister, and niece are on another coast and my husband is–well you know where he is.)

James is getting lots of spoiling and attention.

His uncle took him sledding today. Both of his uncles played a rousing game of “toss the kid” in the pool last night. We’re playing games, listening to Christmas music, watching classic Christmas movies, and eating too much junk!

We open presents on Christmas day so the big excitement still lies ahead for us.

My friend Gigi will be spending the afternoon with us–her husband is incarcerated as well.

The turkey is ready for roasting, the pies are cooling, the fudge is prepared!

We’re all set to spend a special day with one another.

I read the chapter on Mary today in John MacArthur’s 12 Extraordinary Women and we watched The Nativity Story this afternoon. I always wonder about Mary and how willing she was to be the mother of the Savior. I wonder if I would have been as willing to serve God as she was.

Tomorrow we will read Luke 2 together and thank God once again for sending the most amazing gift we can ever receive.

Merry Christmas to you and your family. I want you to know you are a wonderful special blessing in my life.

I want to wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas! I am so glad you could have some family to celebrate with you. There were nine of us at our home today. We had short sleeve spring-like weather today. It doesn’t “feel” like Christmas, but no matter what the weather, thank God for the gift of His precious Son, Jesus.
