Works for Me~Bedroom Update~”table”

by adustyframe ~ January 7th, 2009

I have had a few parts of the bedroom come together. I haven’t been as motivated to finish it since my husband’s not home. Eventually it will get there!

Last year, I decided on a red/black theme with silver accents.

I finally found a red duvet cover at Target and some clips to turn my comforter into a duvet. That’s substituting until I find a bed set I really love.

James got me a black rug for Christmas. It’s one I had looked at at the store so it’s so sweet he remembered I liked it. (You should be able to see a corner of it in the photo. It’s nice and fluffy!)

I had a chair for a bedside table but it just wasn’t working. My microwave stand would be perfect. It’s the bottom of an old sewing machine. Just the legs and two shelves. However, I wouldn’t have anything to put  my microwave on!

So I made do with this and it “Works for me”. 2 old suitcases and my picnic basket.

I love it! My current bedside table is a 4’x6′ bright green metal storage tank from Home Depot. It runs parallel to my side of the bed. We just don’t have room for it anywhere else. I dream of the day that it goes away.

I think my Dad took those suitcases to Purdue in the mid 50s!! Nice work!

That’s really pretty! I see those old suitcases in my thrift store all the time. I should pick some up next time. Great idea. 🙂

I really like that! When I was growing up, we lived in a house with minimal furniture while we were waiting to move overseas, and I remember using a metal folding chair as my nightstand. Oof that didn’t work well! Everything would fall into the middle of the chair all the time. 🙂 Oh well, it was better than nothing!
