Works of God Weekend

by adustyframe ~ January 16th, 2009

So, what has God been doing in your life this week?

I received a gift from my brother to help pay my bills which is a big blessing. I told him that if I share a prayer request it doesn’t mean I’m asking for anything. He said, “I know but I guess I can send you something if I want.”

Another blessing was that my utility bill was way less than I thought it would be.

I’m also learning how to cast my burden on the Lord (and keep it there!). It’s so tempting to clutch the burdens to my chest but holding the burdens seems to make them heavier.

I think letting go of them and letting God carry them is a much better plan!

**Hmmm Mr Linky was here and now he’s gone! If you have a link will you leave it in the comments please?

Last Friday we recieve a refund check from our insurance company. It was in the amount of $108.07 God knows are needs before we do. On Tuesday a tooth broke out of my husband’s denture. That cost $98.00 to repair. We had to pick it up at the clinic next to the hospital. So we went to the cafe at the hospital for lunch and the lunch for the two of us was just under $10. God is always good and He always takes care of our needs and sometimes sents a litlle extra.

I have an occassional cleaning job which I have not done for a while.I did it this morning and was paid- and then realised that it would help pay for my sons birthday present. Hooray! Also I had to take the Ladies bible study today. We looked at Proverbs ch 11. I was really struggling in the preparation- but the Lord took my words and the ladies were blessed by the study- as was I. To add to this, my husband had today off- I would never have managed it all if he hadn’t been around- life has been so busy recently it was a real relief to me.

I nearly burned the house down yesterday by leaving tongue boiling on the stove while I was busily working on my book down in the basement. The pot ran out of water, continued to boil, and filled the entire house with smoke (my husband was upstairs sleeping at the time). I drove my daughter to skating and just cried in the car for an hour – it was just the latest in a string of colossal failures and idiocies on my part. I can’t shake the fact that God is upset with me.
