Lee’s Laundry

by adustyframe ~ February 11th, 2009

Yesterday when I was taking James to Tae Kwon Do, I discovered my car had no brakes! Thank God I discovered this in the driveway! Needless to say we didn’t go anywhere.

The other car–you know THE car that has given me so many headaches!–was parked in the garage and hasn’t started since Christmas. I went out today to put the battery charger on it to see if that’s the only problem. I’m praying that’s all!

Well, this is the car that Lee was driving and it’s full of his things. Some of his things were sitting in the garage waiting for me to sort them. They are in all the baskets and boxes that they were in when I picked them up from the facility in December.

I sorted through a couple boxes and a baset and threw away the garbage. I took in his basket of dirty laundry (from December!) to wash and realized why I had left these things outside.

I felt like crying as I dumped his clothes in the washer. Putting his shoes away felt like such a chore. I read some of his notes in his BIble and letters I had sent him tucked into his books.

I found a paper tucked in his Bible from the prison days. It was a request to the chaplain’s office to ask our pastor for a copy of the marriage vows. I thought that was sweet, but at the same time, I had to choke back the tears.

Currently his laundry is clean and sitting in the washer wet. If I leave it there I don’t have to think about this again!

Wonder how long I can ignore it before it stinks up the place? (just kidding!)

OK honest thought here: “How much more of this crap does Lizzie have to take”….I know…I know….none of this is a surprise to God…I just wish it would be over for you….You are an inspiration….you just keep doing what is right in His eyes….God Bless

Hee hee;) My honest thought is I’ve wondered the same thing for the past 4 years;)!

Pam, you echo my exact thoughts! Lizzie, I know that God’s going to bless you wonderfully (somehow!) through all this, but right now I’d sure like for the blessings to start and the hard times to lesson. :-)

Thanks, Ashley! (By the way, I’ve sure been enjoying the BH & G! I think of you everytime I read it)
