Works Of God Weekend

by adustyframe ~ February 13th, 2009

Has God been up to anything in your life? Please share. I really enjoy hearing what God has done for you in the past week (or so…)

I am thankful for safety and brakes failing in my driveway rather than on the road.

I’m thankful for answered prayer in something “small” like an Etsy sale.

I’m thankful for the opportunity to homeschool my sweet little boy.

I’m thankful for a friend who bought us tickets to a local high school’s presentation of My Fair Lady.

I’m thankful for God’s provision.

I’m thankful for friends and prayer supporters and encouraging blog readers!
What are you thankful for? (That’s really all I’m looking for by “Works of God”)

I am thankful my husband can work today helping a car dealer drive cars. I am thankful that I can be used of God to knit little baby caps for Midwife kits. ( It is my desire to be used of God )I am thankful that my husband could install a new light fixture in our bath room. I am thankful for the sale we were able to get the fixture at for a total of $5.85. I am thankful for you Lizzie and you husband and precious son. I am thankful our Heavenly Father, His Son, and the blessed Holy Spirit. I am thankful for our two kids and their kids. I better stop. God is awesome and He has been so good to us.

First, a “small” provision….I already mentioned this in an earlier comment, but I found a muchly needed dress for my daughter on the clearance lack at the last moment – when time and money were both short – to wear to her great-grandpa’s funeral.

And then a big blessing…I struggled with handing this next problem over to God the last couple of weeks. I tend to worry compulsively over things that are beyond my control. Thankfully, my husband has more sense than I do and was able to “talk me down” and I came to terms with it and would have to trust God to provide the means to fix a crack in our house foundation. Well, the 2nd foundation estimator came this week to look at the crack and recommended that we do…nothing! He suggested we just wait and watch for any changes in the crack’s condition or if we start getting water in the basement to give him a call. Hallelujah! He thinks we may need to waterproof the crack down the road, but that it likely is not a serious foundation problem. He must be one of most honest estimators in Southeast Michigan, especially when businesses are failing left and right. I’ll heed this as a warning and start saving $$!

My son in law has been unemployed since June.
He returned to school (he has one degree) to get a certification in a medical area. He has been given wrong info on unemployment-school assistance and a variety of other connected issues….he is discouraged. This week there is a little glimer of hope in terms of financial assitance (a for pay internship in his field) not more than unemployment but may lead to a position down the road, while he finishes this certification. Please pray for their family (they have two precious children). My daughter is a special ed teacher and thankfully their insurance is thru her employemnt. She has tremendous faith and is an inspiratio to me. God Bless, Pam
