Blueberry Pizza

by adustyframe ~ February 19th, 2009

My mom called to get this recipe yesterday and since it was out of the recipe box, I thought I’d share it with you.

I haven’t eaten it since I was a teenager! I was thinking it may be time to make it again.

Blueberry Pizza

1 white cake mix

1 1/4c. rolled oats

1/2 c. butter, softened

1 egg

1/2 c. chopped nuts

1/4 c. brown sugar

1/2 tsp cinnamon

1/4 tsp nutmeg

21 oz can blueberry pie filling

1. Grease 12″ pizza pan or 9″x13″ pan.

2. In large bowl, combine cake mix, 1 c. of oats, and 6 Tb of the butter until crumble.

3. Reserve 1 c. of the crumbs for topping.

4. To remaining crumbs blend in egg. Press into pan and bake at 350 for 12 minutes.

5. To reserved crumbs, add 1/4 c. oats, 2Tb butter, nuts, sugar, and spices. Stir until well mixed.

6. When crust is baked, remove from oven and spread with blueberry pie filling. Sprinkle with crumb mixture. Bake for another 15-20 minutes until crumbs are light golden brown.

MMM, sounds delicious! I wonder if it would work with a yellow cake mix and apple pie filling?? I guess there’s one way to find out! 😉

Oh I’m sure it would! Let me know how it goes;)! You may adjust the cinnamon depending on how spicy your filling is.

Hmmm! You haven’t eaten since you were a teenager, you say. What is your secret to staying alive all these years without eating? 🙂 Sorry ! Couldn’t resist that typo! (Now, watch, I will probably make one just for being so “mean” to you!)

This sounds delicious! My husband loves blueberry desserts. I will have to give it a try and surprise him. Thanks for sharing it!

Still praying for all of you! Have a great weekend!

ooo! You caught my typo;)! No matter how many times I read them I find something! Let me know if he likes it!

Lizzie, just letting you know that I made this last night, and we liked it! I think I will cut back on the nutmeg a bit next time. I made it without nuts because my husband doesn’t like them. Also, I would like to try it with cherry, too. Thanks again for sharing it! Have a great day!
