From my Journal~Isaiah 43:18,19

by adustyframe ~ March 5th, 2009

Many years ago, when I began searching for a Biblical response to the events in my life, I wrote down verses in a journal. If they applied to my husband, I wrote his name next to them.

If they applied to my child, I wrote his name next to the verse. If they applied to me, I wrote my name. Interestingly enough, most of the verses applied to me!

Here’s one I found on a discouraging day. I wrote it down and prayed that somehow it would be true in our lives. As I read it again this morning, I am praying it again.

Isaiah 43:18,19

Remember not the former things neither consider the things of old.

Behold, I will do a new thing:  now it shall spring forth shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.

God will make a way is a truth I hold on to.

*If you visit this post, you can listen to a song called God will make a way

YUP…it’s time for me to let the Lord do a new thing. As Beth Moore said at the marriage seminar Saturday, “Get over it!” Ow…hard words to hear. Even harder to do. Thanks for the reminder Lizzie.

Just this morning I was so frustrated with my currant situation that I came in my room and prayed that God would make things the way they used to be. I’ve thought that before, but Im not sure I’ve ever voiced it in prayer. I also asked that God would sustain me through this time.
This scripture covers both aspects of my prayer. God is so good! While I may not get what I want, He is near. And I know thats all I need right now.

I was just looking at the news online, bemoaning the latest grim news on the stock market/economic conditions and thinking to myself, “I’m so tired of worrying. I just want things to be the way they were.” Pretty selfish, huh? Thanks for the reminder to put my faith where it belongs.

I just about had a complete mental melt-down this week….thanks for the reminder.
    God Bless, Pam

While preparing a comment about this verse, I came to know this site. It’s just wonderful to see how God’s word is so effective in our lives. We all need the Lord! His power is a moving in us. His care for us is constant. His eye is on the sparow and we can be sure that He watches over us. I personally want Him to make a new thing in my private life. Especially in what concerns my relationship with my spouse. I know that He can change what we cannot change.
