Easter Resources

I made a “listmania” at Amazon with some of my favorite Easter resources as well as some others that looked really good.

Take a peek and tell me what you think. Then make sure you leave a comment with your favorite Easter resources–non-secular please.

Baby’s First Easter – You can’t get this directly from Amazon now. I guess it’s out of print. We really like it. I teach preschool Sunday School. Last year we were using a weird curriculum that DID NOT include the Easter story. (We’re not using it anymore, for that reason.) But I used this book to tell the story. It is very preschool friendly.

I love those Arch Books! They are oldies, but goodies. We got an Easter set last year at the Scholastic sale. I think they will be a wonderful addition to our school.

Vinegar Boy. It’s about an orphan boy around the time of the crucifixion. This is our read aloud every Easter season. When all 4 were young, I read to them. Now an older child reads it to us and we often finish it in one sitting…it’s hard to put down, even knowing the story so well!!

You can still get it at Amazon (for as low as 0.91!) http://tinyurl.com/cs88jf I see they have a newer edition too, though.

Great List!! I love stuff like this – because I put a lot of thought into what to put into each of my kids’ Easter baskets (book-wise). Let’s see. This year, I got “A Case for Christ” – Kids’ Edition by Lee Strobel for Miro (9). They also have a kid’s version of A Case for Faith and the Case for the Resurrection.

Then, for Tali (3) I got The Storybook Bible. Vali gets a devotional for girls. However, I had ordered Paul Maier’s “The First Easter” (the one on your list) for Stefan (5), having heard it was excellent, and wound up sending it back to the distributor – over 2 sentences on the page about the Last Supper (transubstantiation; then the statement that the sacraments are a means of grace and forgiveness). You know what a stickler I am for biblical precision. Back to CBD it went. The artwork was very effeminite, too.

So, I checked the local Christian bookstore for “Peter’s First Easter” (couldn’t find it anywhere!) and finally settled on “Little Colt’s Palm Sunday” – http://www.amazon.com/Little-Colts-Sunday-Michelle-Medlock/dp/082495503X

It looks great. I love teaching them about the amazing truth of the Resurrection.

Thanks for your tips. I’ll have to look at that book again and see why I missed what you pointed out!

‘The Three Trees’ is the best one. I had never heard of ‘Benjamin’s Box’.

    Passion Hymns for a Kid’s Heart Tada/Wolgemuth
    We love the whole series!
