Works of God~Monday Edition

What has God been doing in your life? Have you had any blessings? Any provision you’re thankful for or something new you’ve learned about God?

Please share any post from the last month. If you don’t have a blog just leave a comment here.

Here are some of my blessings:

1. I found a new bathroom faucet for less than $6 on clearance. A man from church installed it for me for free. What a blessing. No more corroded faucet that comes off in your hands if you pull too hard!

2. This isn’t a new blessing, but it’s a blessing all the same. We qualify for a scholarship to our local YMCA. It’s such a blessing to give them a tiny bit of money and have a full membership to use all the facilities.

3. My friend Joy. She and I had a nice chat the other day. It’s a blessing to have a friend I can be honest with and be accountable to.

4. My brother and sister in law spent the weekend with us. They came up on Friday afternoon. We love visiting with them. My brother replaced lightbulbs for me and fixed my storm door. They also help entertain James and that’s always nice.

What about you?

Isn’t it great when God provides good prices on things we need? He is so good to us in so many ways! Thanks for sharing how He’s working in your life!

  2. Pam

My heart is thankful—-but heavy….my best friend since childhood (56 years) daughter has been diagnosed with a serious mental illness…she has two very small children who thankfully are safe…but the prognosis is not good. She has been commited to a mental health facility. Please pray for everyone involved…the woman, her family, the professionals…I know the Lord can interveen and has already kept them all safe…and I am very thankful for that.

    ((Hugs)) and prayers. I’m sorry.

My praise is that my neighbors Tom & Maureen are going to take my husband and I to the hospital the day of my husbands surgery so I won’t have to drive home from there alone. As scheduled he should only have to stay overnight one night.

To Pam: I’m so sorry. Praying for your friend’s family, too.

God’s work for us is this: We have found a church home … after watching and waiting for about 3 years. During that time, God has provided amply with fellowship from many angles. But since we moved to a new place and haven’t made many friends yet, I have been so terribly lonely and aching for fellowship, accountability, reaching out in service, listening to the preaching of the Word, and simply being more connected to the body. The new fellowship we are meeting with is not perfect and we are out of our comfort zone in a few areas, but so be it! The folks there are preaching the gospel with boldness, pouring themselves out in love to the body and sharing Jesus and loving on folks who haven’t found him yet. I’m so thankful. I’m praying God will help me let go of my fears and wounds from previous experiences and that I’ll be freed to love and pour out, too.

    I’m glad to hear this!

Still determining to move forward through forgiveness. My friend at church commented Sunday that I seem much more secure in my identity in Christ lately, not knowing anything about what God’s doing in me.
