This week on Christian radio it’s all about Easter–which is of course a very good thing.

I listened to a speaker say that the women who went to the tomb that morning were not expecting a risen Christ.

I immediately thought, “Why weren’t they!?” Jesus said that he’d rise again.

Then I realized that I myself don’t always believe what Jesus  said. If I did, I wouldn’t stress about bills or worry about our future. I wouldn’t feel frustrated when I don’t see what’s going on.

Did Jesus promise to supply my needs? Did he say he will never leave me or forsake me? Hasn’t he said that his thoughts are not my thoughts or that I should trust in him to direct my steps?

Why are we so hard on those Bible characters? We shake our heads at Eve–tsk tsk tsk!

We wonder just what exactly was Martha’s problem.  We read about Peter denying Jesus and say “I’d never do such a thing!”

I’ve been thinking about this a lot this week. Too many times I don’t believe what Jesus said. I may not come out and say that. I may not even realize it, but  my actions show it. My doubts show it.

What a blessing to know that God loves me anyway and that he wants me to see this about myself.  I’m praying that God will help me to believe him more and that my life will show that I do.
