Granny Cake~Church Cookbook
by adustyframe ~ April 14th, 2009Another recipe from the old church cookbook. Aren’t these the best recipes anyway? You know for sure someone thought it was a keeper.
2 c. flour
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 20 0z can crushed pineapple, undrained
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
Topping ingredients:
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1/2 c. brown sugar
Icing Ingredients:
1 c. evaporated milk
1/2 stick butter
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1. Mix all cake ingredients in a bowl–not topping ingredients.
2. Pour into a greased 9 x 13 pan.
3. Mix together nuts and brown sugar and sprinkle over the batter.
4. Bake 350 for 35-40 minutes.
5. Let cool 10 minutes while you make icing.
To make icing:
Mix together all icing ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Boil 1 minute and then pour on cake.
