My funny boy

Friday, July 31st, 2009

I got a Jazz for Kids CD at the library. It’s full of fun songs like “Yes we have no bananas” and “Rag Mop”. He said, “I’d like this better if those people weren’t singing.” Those people are artists like Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong! Silly boy.

Did you know that FDR knit? I have a bucket of these old blocks for a photo prop, but this is a good idea too. Do you ever laugh about silly things that always happen in movies? This post is funny. Stuff I’ve never done that’s always in the movies. Mmm….rhubarb pudding cake. This recipe […]

Telling

Thursday, July 30th, 2009

Telling people that my husband is/was in prison is never easy for me. I am getting better about it. It’s so much a part of our lives that now it’s just a fact . I don’t wear a sign or blab the news everywhere I go, but if people ask questions, it’s getting easier for […]

Help us settle a matter

Lee and I were talking the other day. He said something about talking to mom on the phone. I said, “Your mom or mine?” He said, “Mine. I don’t call your mom mom, she’s not my mom.” I told him that I call his mom and dad mom and dad sometimes. He said I should […]

“All God wants of man is a peaceful heart.” Meister Eckhart I saw this quote on Twitter today–yikes! Meister Eckhart seems to be an ancient mystic–I thought at first that it was Oprah’s guru Eckhart Tolle. Is that all God wants of us? He just wants us to have a peaceful heart? This won’t be […]

Works of God ~Monday

Any blessings this week? 1. Someone gave Lee and I money to go out for dinner. It was nice to have a date and not think about the money. 2. We’ve started counseling with Pastor. Good for a lot of reasons. 3. Lee is working temp work. It’s definitely a blessing even though it’s nowhere […]

Just sharing some interesting links I saw in the past week. 8 surprising uses for olive oil I really dislike olives, but I love using olive oil. (Weird, I know!) Turn ugly art into a pretty chalkboard I’m going to have to try this. Just for laughs–look at what they made into art! Here’s a […]

Rachel Barkey Death is Not Dying

Wednesday, July 22nd, 2009

I heard about Rachel Barkey on a friend’s Facebook page today and just spent the last hour listening to this woman’s testimony. I’m certain that I need to listen to it again and I hope you will take time to listen as well. Wow~she puts so much into perspective. On March 4, 2009, Rachel had […]
