Prayer Partners

by adustyframe ~ July 9th, 2009

When I share our story, I don’t necessarily do it to gain prayer partners.

In the very beginning, I shared because I knew other women must be living a similar life and I wanted to encourage them to trust in the Lord.

As time went on, more and more people found us and heard about us and began to pray.

WOW! What an amazing honor and blessing to be prayed for by people all over the world. It’s been one of the most surprising things about this blog and I thank each of you for any prayer you’ve ever prayed for us.

When I dropped James off at camp on Monday, I thought I should tell his counselor about Lee’s incarceration. I didn’t know what topics would come up during chapel, or what kids might say, or what James himself might mention.

I found his counselor before I left and said, “I just wanted to let you know that James’ dad is incarcerated. Sometimes when kids talk about their daddies he gets sad. I just wanted you to have that information as you care for my son this week.”

His counselor looked at me with the same sad serious eyes everyone looks at me with when they hear this. “Thank you for sharing that with me. I will pray for all of you.”

I smiled. What a blessing that in being honest and open, I found another prayer partner. I didn’t tell him that so he’d pray for us, but it’s a wonderful response.

God is so good to allow each of us to support and hold up one another in prayer.

I’m blessed by your prayers and I’m also blessed to pray for the requests you’ve shared with me.

James 5:16 The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

Thanks for sharing Lizzie….it’s an honor…a priviledge…a responsibility to
bring each others burdens and praises to the Lord.

“bear ye one another’s burdens…” I love it when people live it 🙂

Lizzie, my first thought while reading this post is exactly what Pam said – it’s an honor to be able to pray for you. That you would be humble and transparent enough to share your road, your burdens with us is a blessing in and of itself. Thank you for sharing your life with us so that we can hold you guys up in prayer.

    Thank you!
