Forgiveness is not that stripe which says, “I will forgive, but not forget.”

It is not to bury the hatchet with the handle sticking out of the ground,

so you can grasp it the minute you want it.

    someone said this to me:

“Forgiving another is giving up the right to hurt that person”

    it got me thinking.

That’s a good way to look at it too!

    My definition of forgiveness is:

Being willing to restore the relationship once repentance happens.

In some instances, but I do think you can forgive but not resume a relationship. There is info about this in all the notes I posted awhile ago about forgiveness. We should desire they be restored to a right relationship with God, but there are definitely instances where re-entering a relationship is not wise.
