bday-1Here’s Ashley’s birthday card. I always appreciate Ashley’s kindness and cheerfulness. (And her brownie recipe is yummy too!)

Thank you, Ashley.
“The King will reply, ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.’ ” Matthew 25:40
I first stumbled on A Dusty Frame’s blog a few years ago. It opened up a world I’d never really thought much about – the world of prisoners and their families. Previously, I’d always assumed that people in prison were supposed to be there and I didn’t think much past that.

Lizzie’s story has changed my heart about having compassion towards those in prison and their families. I love that she has committed to being anonymous. She could be anyone – she could be someone in my church, or my neighbor, or someone I pass in the grocery store. Or maybe she’s on the other side of the country and I will never meet her on this side of heaven.

It doesn’t matter, because her story is probably the same as thousands of hurting women out there, including women who DO live near me. Lizzie’s honest struggles have touched me and challenged me to reach out and touch others. And I appreciate that in her posts she always returns to the ultimate Healer. Her faith in God shines through clearly in her writing and I appreciate that. Jesus talks in Matthew about how when we help “the least of them”, we are essentially helping Him. Lizzie reminds me of that passage; how we don’t have to go to a foreign country or inner city to find broken and hurting people.

Thank you, Lizzie, for being who you are and letting us glimpse your life through your blog – and keeping us pointed back to Christ!
