Meeting with the parole officer
by adustyframe ~ August 27th, 2009Lee and I met with the parole officer today. I’m not sure how she thought the meeting went, but I thought it was good.
I got to air a few frustrations. She said nothing was changing, but maybe she listened. Even if she heard just a little bit of my heart, I think it’s good.
She said we’re welcome to appeal her decisions. I don’t know if we will. We spent last summer doing that and at this point I feel really cynical about it doing any good.
She was pleasant although firm and that’s ok. It’s her job to be firm and I don’t think she should behave like she’s our friend.
It’s hard to know what to think.

So does this mean you don’t know how long parole lasts or that she hasn’t changed any of the terms of his parole? You can choose not to answer–I don’t mean to pry. Just want to help by praying.
She hasn’t changed the terms. He has 1 1/2 yrs left of probation.

Any idea how long they project you all will be in this stage of things?
No idea, we thought things were going to be changing here pretty soon, but she’s made it clear that it’s not.

My heart just hurts for you, for the amorphous subjective way the whole process is being handled. I do hope her heart will be softened to your husband and his situation.

Do you have any idea of when he will be able to come home? Has James been able to see him? Still praying for you all!
No idea yet. We were hoping soon, but now she said nothing’s changing. Thank you for praying!

has she offered any reason why she won’t let Lee see James?
