Sunflower Serenade~Book Review

by adustyframe ~ September 8th, 2009

Home to Heather Creek is a 12 book series centering around the Stevenson family.

The Stevensons are farmers in Nebraska caring for their 3 young grandchildren. I reviewed Every Sunrise a little while ago.

I was given the opportunity to review Sunflower Serenade as well.

A small-town summer…

The days are long and lazy, the corn is high, the sunflowers are in bloom, and everyone in Bedford is gearing up for the biggest event of the summer: the annual county fair. But when a Nashville music producer approaches Bob about using Heather Creek Farm to film a country star’s new music video, he and Charlotte are faced with a dilemma. Will they allow the glamour and enticements of big-city life to encroach upon their peaceful home? Will the excitement of celebrity drown out the simple joys of summer?

Sunflower Seranade is a fun summer read. The Stevensons are preparing for the fair. The book is full of fun things about the fair–races, food, contests, etc.

James and I didn’t make it to the fair this year, so I enjoyed at least reading about it.

Charlotte enters her pies–I still think someone needs to share her recipe for the Carmel Apple pie mentioned here!

Emily learns to shoot photos for her entry and Christopher trains their dog as his entry in the fair.

A surprise awaits them when a famous country music star wants to film a video on their farm.

Tricia’s book shares family, faith, and fun in a pleasant easy read.
